A Paducah City Commissioner has been appointed to serve on a council for the state.

Richard Abraham was appointed earlier this month to the Governor's Minority Employment, Business Affairs, and Economic Development Council by former Governor Steve Beshear.

The council's mission is to collaborate with corporations, business owners, government entities, and others to develop initiatives that will help grow minority business enterprises and minority employment opportunities in Kentucky.

Abraham will serve on the council through April 1, 2019.

Abraham says he is excited to be appointed and, "I look forward to finding out how I can use this position to help minority-owned businesses in Paducah and across western Kentucky.”
