A Chicago-area man who pleaded guilty to kidnapping a Southeast Missouri State University student in August was sentenced to 35 years in federal prison this week.

The Southeast Missourian reports that, during an August plea agreement, Lazier admitted he abducted the 22-year-old Southeast Missouri State University student at knife-point in Cape County Park South in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Lazier held the woman captive for more than six hours while driving in Missouri and Illinois before she escaped in Effingham, Illinois.
