Cabondale man sentenced in drug and probation cases

CARBONDALE, IL -

A Carbondale, Illinois, man was sentenced Thursday to serve prison terms in two separate cases — one involving selling drugs and the other involving probation — according to the Jackson County State's Attorney's Office.

The attorney's office says 21-year-old Simeon Patterson pleaded guilty to two counts of delivery of crack cocaine to a person working with the Carbondale Police Department Drug Task Force, which happened on Oct. 15 and Oct. 26. He was sentenced to six years in prison, followed by a two-years of mandatory supervised release.

In the other case, Patterson pleaded guilty to allegations of a petition to revoke probation stemming from an incident in 2012.  In that case, the attorney's office says he pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated battery and was placed on probation.  The attorney's office says Patterson violated the terms of his probation by failing to report for scheduled appointments. He was sentenced to three years in prison to run concurrent with his sentence in the drug delivery case.
