CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. -

Kentucky will seek the death penalty against the man accused of murder, arson and burglary in the deaths of a Calloway County family.

Pascasio Pacheco is accused of killing Bulmaro Arellano, his wife, Marisol Hernandez, and their two children.

Police say Pacheco shot and killed the adults, then set fire to their home on State Route 121. The two children died of smoke inhalation.

In court Tuesday in Calloway County, Pacheco's lawyer entered a "not guilty" plea.

Judge James Jameson also set a status hearing for April 19. Commonwealth's Attorney Mark Blankenship says there will be no plea deal offered.

"The more I dig into this case, the more I'm convinced that this is the appropriate punishment ," Blankenship says.

Blankenship said he hopes to get evidence back from Kentucky's crime lab this summer, but does not see a trial for Pacheco until 2017.
