A funeral for Kentucky attorney and former Murray State University Board of Regents Chairman Sid Easley will be held Sunday.
Easley, who had been battling cancer, passed away at his home in Murray on Tuesday. He was 75.
From 1978 to 1982, Easley served as the first district judge for Calloway and Marshall counties, and he served as Murray State Board of Regents chairman for 11 years. An active member of his community, he was also a published author, a lay leader at his church, and one of the first recipients of the Murray State University Golden Horseshoe Award. The Murray State Alumni Association Building was named in his honor in 2005.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home in Murray. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at First United Methodist Church in Murray, followed by the burial ceremony at Murray City Cemetery.
