The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is reducing the number of people working on fighting the flood.
The Corps of Engineers says it has lowered its floodfighting response activation level to Phase I in all active areas.
This includes: - Cairo area in Illinois - Missouri area in Missouri - Reelfoot-Obion and Memphis areas in Tennessee - Clarksdale area in Mississippi - White River in West Tennessee - Helena areas in Arkansas
The Crops of Engineers says as a result of the lowered response level, the number of people deployed to monitor the flood has been reduced.
Personnel are still monitoring levees, flood walls, and pump stations in areas that have flooded.
