Marion VA Medical Center hosting voter registration event

The Williamson County Clerk Amanda Barnes will be at the Marion VA Medical Center in Illinois to register Williamson County residents to vote or sign up for a vote by mail ballots Tuesday, Feb. 2.
The medical center says the event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 2 in the pharmacy waiting area of the main hospital building. It says everyone who is a citizen of the United States, will be at least 18 on or before Nov. 8 — General Election Day — and will have lived in the Illinois and in the precinct for 30 days before to the date of the primary election can register to vote at the event.
To register to vote, you need to bring two forms of identification with your name and at least one with your current address. Examples include a driver’s license, a piece of mail, or an ID card.
The deadline for registering to vote for the March 15 Primary Election is Feb. 16. If your latest Voters Identification Card does not reflect your current name or address, the medical center notes that you must update your voter registration information to be eligible to vote in the primary election.
