Illinois has a National Human-Trafficking Resource Center Hotline
A new law in Illinois, which took effect January 1, 2016, requires businesses like bars, truck stops and job recruitment centers to post the number for the National Human-Trafficking Resource Center Hotline.
Those businesses must post the number near public entrances and other locations for employees will see it.
Businesses that don't comply could be fined.
It's all in an effort to raise awareness for what the Illinois Department of Human Services calls "modern-day slavery."
