The University of Louisville announced on Friday that its men's basketball team will not play in this year's post-season.
The self-imposed ban is due in part to an investigation by the NCAA into allegations that escorts were paid and given game tickets in exchange for dancing and having sex with players and recruits between 2010 and 2014.
The investigation has not concluded, but University President James Ramsey says it is reasonable to conclude that violations had happened in the past.
Louisville's basketball team is currently ranked 19th in the country.
They have an 18 and 4 record and is in second place in their conference.
