Cliven Bundy arrested, protesters prepared to turn themselves in
BURNS, Ore. (AP) -
The Bundy Ranch Facebook Page's status about Cliven Bundy's arrest says Bundy was arrested and charged based on what happened in 2014 at the Bundy Ranch. The post says, quote "They keep coming for us patriots, they keep attacking peaceful principled men and woman. What are the people to do when our government becomes the enemy of the law. -- Pray fervently tonight. Many are in peril."
Charges against Cliven Bundy are not confirmed.
The occupiers still inside the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge published a live stream of a conference call between protesters, activists and Nevada lawmaker Michele Fiore. In that conference call, the protesters said they are prepared to turn themselves in this morning, Thursday February 11, 2016. The group started the live stream after the FBI surrounded the compound last night. Fiore told the protesters still inside the ranch that the FBI agreed to step down Wednesday night to allow her to be at the checkpoint when the group turned themselves in Thursday morning.
CNN reports that, at one point, more than 66,000 people were listening in on that live stream.
Wednesday marks day 40 for the occupation at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.
