MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY -

A man was arrested on drug charges after he was patted down at the security checkpoint at the McCracken County Courthouse Friday morning, according to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies say 31-year-old Kyle Bouland of Providence, Kentucky, entered the courthouse around 10 a.m. Friday and was stopped at the security checkpoint after the metal detector he walked through went off. They say he stated he was there for court on a previous charge.

A deputy spoke with Bouland and, the sheriff's department says, observed "nervous behavior" from Bouland. The deputy conducted a weapons pat down, and found a glass smoking pipe in the man's pocket. The sheriff's department says the pipe was found to contain methamphetamine.

Deputies say he was out on a bond from Mayfield on cocaine possession and carrying a concealed deadly weapon charges.

Bouland was arrested and jailed in the McCracken County Regional Jail. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine, a first degree controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
