Judge orders release of photos in the Molly Young case

CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) -

Molly Young's father won a legal ruling and now he will receive photographs related to his daughter's death. The Southern Illinoisan newspaper reports that the Illinois Attorney General's Office ordered ISP to provide Larry Young with photos from its investigation into Young's death. She was found dead inside her boyfriend's apartment with a gunshot wound to head in 2012.

Molly Young's boyfriend was a Carbondale police dispatcher at the time. He does not face any charges in her death. Her case remains open after a special prosecutor couldn't determine whether the wound was an accident, suicide or homicide.

The latest ruling came from February 10, 2016 and marks the third time the Public Access Bureau concluded that state or Carbondale police violated public records laws by denying Larry Young's request for records.
