Lions Club celebrates 100 years with bus tour

PADUCAH, KY -

The Lions Club is celebrating its 100th year, and Paducah got a visit Friday from the group’s first vice-president, Bob Corlew.

The visit is part of the group’s first bus tour. It's making stops to smaller cities to see where all its efforts and money are going.

Friday, they traveled to Easter Seals West Kentucky. It was the second of 26 stops for Corlew. He says the goal is to make sure each club is meeting the needs of the community and that their service is relevant.

This was his first tour of Easter Seals West Kentucky, and he said he’s impressed. He’ll be the Lions Club international president next year, and he says he’s proud of the $26 million the Lions Club, along with WPSD, has raised.

“I think it's very important. I think we need more centers like this around the country,” Corlew said. The Lions Club also hopes the tour will encourage members to do more, and maybe even encourage new membership.
