Here are six things to know for today.

Jason Brian Dalton, the man accused of killing 6 people and wounding 2 others in Kalamazoo, Michigan will be in court today. Dalton is expected to be charged with murder, attempted murder, and other charges.

The fight between Apple and the FBI continues over the phone used by on of the San Bernardino terrorists. Common Software would have let the FBI unlock the phone without Apple's help. The software was paid for but never installed.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is hoping to grab another win when voters head to the polls tomorrow for the Nevada caucus. Meanwhile, the Democratic candidates will be fighting for support in South Carolina. Voters will decide their candidate Saturday.

Pope Francis is now calling for a one-year moratorium on the death penalty. He's proposing that Catholic leaders suspend the practice during the holy year of mercy. That push for forgiveness runs through November.

It was a photo finish at the Daytona 500. Denny Hamlin was able to literally inch out a win over Martin Truex Junior. Hamlin wins by .0011 second, an estimated 4 inches. That's the closest finish in Daytona 500 history.
