Hopkins County deputies arrested a man for violating an emergency protective order and running from police.
Deputies were called to a home in Earlington Saturday and tried to arrest John Hayes. Deputies say he resisted and drove off, disregarding the deputy's commands to stop.
Deputies pursued Hayes to Madisonville where he was arrested after a K9 tracked him down. He was taken to Baptist Health for treatment and then taken to the Hopkins County Jail.
He is charged with violation of a Kentucky emergency protective order, menacing, resisting arrest, attempted theft of an automobile, criminal mischief, wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police and reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle under the influence.
