BENTON, Ky. -

Kentucky State Police say a man faces charges after a hostage situation Monday morning.

State troopers and Marshall County sheriff's deputies responded to the scene at a home on Wadesboro Road in Benton around 10:14 a.m. Monday.

KSP says Ronald Fleet held his girlfriend, Melissa Buchanan, and two kids against their will inside the home. After police arrived, all three were let go unharmed.

Troopers say units found a long gun, a small amount of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia during a consent search of the home.

Fleet was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, first degree wanton endangerment, first degree unlawful imprisonment, first degree possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, and public intoxication.

He was jailed in the Marshall County Detention Center.
