CARBONDALE, IL -

Police are investigating the fourth shooting in two weeks in Carbondale.

Police say a man was driving in the 900 block of East College Street Saturday night, when another man got out of his car, had a brief conversation with him, then attacked him. That suspect did steal money from the victim.

As the two fought, police say the victim was shot once in the leg. He was treated for a non-life-threatening injury and released from a hospital.

The suspects is described as a 25 to 30-year-old black man, around six to six foot two in height, weighing about 180 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans and a black hooded shirt. The suspect's car is described as a gray, 1980's model Chevrolet four-door, possibly a Caprice.

If you have any information, contact Carbondale Police Department at (618) 457-3200 or Carbondale/SIU Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (618) 549-COPS (2677).
