Autopsy results in for February Carbondale shooting victim

CARBONDALE, IL -

Carbondale, Illinois, police say the autopsy results are in for the victim of a February shooting who died at a St. Louis area hospital last week. 

Police say 28 year old  David Stockstill Jr., who has residences listed for Carbondale and Mound City, was reported as a gunshot victim at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale around 2:45 p.m. on Feb. 1. They say he was treated for serious injuries before he was transferred to the St. Louis area hospital. 

The autopsy indicated the gunshot wound was the cause of Stockstill's death, police said Tuesday. 

The Carbondale Police Department says detectives are still working to learn exactly where the shooting happened.
