Rolling work zones planned for west Kentucky highways

Posted: Updated:

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says a contractor plans rolling work zones along highways in a number of counties in our area starting this week.

KYTC spokesman Keith Todd says a slow-moving work zone caravan will be used to place raised pavement markers along multiple highways in Graves, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, and McCracken counties. Todd says the work is expected to take two to three weeks, if weather allows.

Todd says drivers should be alert for a slow-moving mobile work caravan with rolling work zone and one-lane traffic. While traffic delays should be minimal, some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment.

KYTC did not specify exactly which sections of which highways will have the rolling work zones, but Todd said the work will continue at various locations around the region through the construction season.
