Many people are observing the National Day of Prayer in the Local 6 area Thursday.
Among the observances in the Local 6 area was a service at the Obion County Courthouse in Union City, Tennessee. Attendees prayed for seven centers of influence: families, military, government, churches, education, media, and business.
And in Marshall County, Kentucky, the wind couldn't stop dozens of people from gathering on the lawn of the local courthouse at noon. They prayed for our nation, the military, schools and emergency workers.
Deputy Judge Executive Brad Warning said it's a great opportunity for the community to come together as one.
Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin was among those who celebrated the day. He posted this picture from Frankfort on Twitter:
