Calloway County Jail tells Local 6 former Paducah Middle School assistant principal Jerry Walker was released on bond Tuesday. Walker was in jail awaiting sentencing after a diversion agreement for a charge in that county was revoked.
The diversion agreement was entered in 2012 after Walker was sentenced to 10 years for a charge of tampering with evidence in a deadly Murray State University dorm fire.
The diversion was revoked last month after Walker was found guilty of three felonies, including tampering with evidence, in a separate case out of McCracken County. The jury recommended he be sentenced to three consecutive years in that case.
Walker's attorney says Walker paid his $250 bond, because he has personal matters to deal with before his sentencing.
Sentencing in the McCracken County case is scheduled for July 1. Sentencing in the Calloway County case is scheduled for July 8.
