Here are six things to know for today.

The NTSB will formally announce their finding on the Amtrak wreck from last year. The engineer was reportedly distracted by radio conversations with other trains and dispatchers at the time of the crash. Eight people died and hundreds more were injured.

A public defender will represent Gary Simpson. He made his first court appearance yesterday. Simpson is charged with kidnapping his 9-year-old niece Carlie Trent. They were found in the woods in East Tennessee last week.

A tornado touched down on the Oklahoma-Texas boarder last night. So far there has been no reports of any damage or injuries.

Last week's tornado in Graves County caused more than $4 million in damages. But county leaders say that still may not be enough to qualify for state aid. The county is working on putting together a committee to decide how to distribute donations they have received.

Edward Ream's retrial is set to start today. He's facing animal torture charges for allegedly poisoning pets in his Ballard County neighborhood. Ream was tried last year, but it was declared a mistrial because of an error in jury selection.

Primaries are being held in Kentucky today. Democrats will be able to vote on their presidential candidate. Both parties will be able to vote on local and state races. Polls are open until 6:00 p.m.
