Local Kentucky government audits were released on Wednesday and a sheriff's department in the Local 6 area was cited several times.Kentucky Auditor Mike Harmon audited the 2014 financial statements of the Livingston County Sheriff's Office.Harmon found the department failed to give collected facility fees to the fiscal court. The sheriff collected $2,270, but only gave the court $1,026.The book-keeper says they calculated based on 10% of fees collected, rather than $10 per document.Sheriff Bobby Davidson paid back $852 in unallowable expenses. That included advertising for a local picnic and late fees, plus interest, on a credit card.Harmon also says under state law, Sheriff Davidson was wrong to use proceeds from a charity golf scramble and official drug funds to fund the D.A.R.E. program.Davidson says all Harmon's findings have been corrected or will not happen again.Harmon also audited Calloway County Sheriff Sam Steger's 2014 taxes and found no instances of non-compliance.
