A boutique hotel in downtown Paducah has won an award from the Kentucky Heritage Council.
The 1857 Hotel at 210 Kentucky Avenue received a Preservation Project Award at the 38th annual Ida Lee Willis Memorial Foundation Historic Preservation Awards on Wednesday. The presentation was held around 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Kentucky Governor’s Executive Mansion in Frankfort.
According to a news release from the heritage council, the Preservation Project Awards recognize "outstanding examples of rehabilitation or preservation of historic buildings, or other types of projects that have had a significant impact on Kentucky’s built environment or historic or prehistoric places."
The hotel opened last month after its owners restored the building from 1875.
