Illinois governor Bruce Rauner is proposing a way to speed up contract talks with the largest state worker's union.
The administration says that it wants to bypass a legal recommendation to expedite the resolution, and that will help save between 35 and 40-million dollars a month in higher health insurance costs for workers.
The union's spokesperson says that the governor is trying to impose his own terms for a new contract.
