Posted: Updated:
CARBONDALE, IL -

There will be some cuts to your student's college education in Illinois.

Southern Illinois University announced Tuesday it will cut $21 million around campus.

This, after  Interim Chancellor Brad Colwell says the school will get around $83 million from the state in stopgap funding this year. It anticipated nearly $102 million.

Cuts include nearly $200,000 from inter-collegiate athletes, $305,000 from the school of law, and $2.2 million from campus-wide allocations like debt service, liability insurance and reserves.

The chancellor and several vice chancellors will also take about 10 percent cuts in their areas.
