Funds set up to help family of boy killed while riding bicycle

Posted: Updated:

An investigation continues into a juvenile that was killed while riding a bicycle.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office says a boy was hit while riding his bicycle on Murray Highway near Hardin, Kentucky Tuesday.

That juvenile was Warren Allen Jaco. His mother, Lacey Lovett, released his name to WPSD Local 6.

Deputies say Warren was hit by a woman driving a car. The driver said she saw two boys riding bicycles in her lane and a pedestrian walking the other way.

She said she tried to go around the riders, but that Warren swerved in front of her car.

Marshall County Sheriff Kevin Byars said once their investigation is complete, they will turn the case over to the grand jury to see if any charges will be filed.

Funds have been set up to help Warren's family.

Lacey says a fund has been set up at US Bank under Warren Jaco/Lacey Lovett. She says there are also t-shirts and decals being made at Choppers in Benton. They have the hashtag #GoPinkForWarren on them.

A GoFundMe page has also been set up. You can find that by clicking here.

The Benton Drive-In will also be holding a fundraiser on Saturday. All proceeds from the sale of ice cream and frozen treats will be given to the family.
