PADUCAH, KY -
Atmos Energy says service has been restored Friday after a gas leak that led to the evacuation of 15 homes in Paducah Thursday.
As of 3 p.m. Friday, Atmos says, the section of 8 inch pipe that was damaged Thursday morning has been removed and service has been restored to all customers affected by the leak.
Atmos says the line was damaged during a replacement project from West Kentucky Community and Technical College to Pecan Drive. The company says construction will continue in the area because the project is scheduled to be finished within the next five weeks.
The company says it will continue to investigate the exact cause of the leak in the upcoming weeks. Atmos says it wants to thank all emergency responders and other agencies that helped with the leak on Thursday.
