After being delayed 23 minutes, the implosion of the old Eggners Ferry Bridge went off without any complications. This as hundreds watched from the Kenlake State Park.
Local 6's Stefanie Martinez spoke with one woman had been out here since 4:15 A.M. to get the perfect spot at the amphitheater at Kenlake State Resort Park. The woman said she had wanted to make sure she saw the Eggners Ferry Bridge fall.
Monday, there was a three-minute warning, then a one-minute warning before the implosion started. It happened very quickly. First people saw a flash, then the bridge fell down, followed by the sounds of the implosion.
It was piece of history in Kentucky Lake, 84 years of history now being removed from the lake.
