GRAVES COUNTY, KY -

Two men accused of drug trafficking were arrested in Graves County Wednesday after a traffic stop in Sedalia, according to the sheriff's office.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office says investigators saw a vehicle drive through a stop sign around 7 p.m. Wednesday, and a traffic stop was made. Detectives say they found a gallon size plastic bag of pills in the floorboard of the vehicle that contained about 500 Hydrocodone tablets.

While the driver, 71-year-old Jerry Hensley of Sedalia, was being interviewed, investigators say they saw the passenger, 51-year-old Edward Thorn of Mayfield, deleting text messages from his phone. Investigators say they believe the texts were evidence of a crime that was being committed. They note that Thorn was out on bond on previous drug trafficking and possession charges.

The two men were arrested and jailed in the Graves County Jail.

Hensley was charged with first degree trafficking in a controlled substance greater than 10 dosage units, first degree possession of a controlled substance and disregarding a traffic control device. Thorn was charged with first degree trafficking in a controlled substance greater than 10 dosage units and tampering with physical evidence.
