Here are six things to know for today.

What started as a small brush fire has now burned 18,000 acres in California. 82,000 people have had to evacuate their homes. Dozens of homes have already burned to the ground. Right now, the fire is 0% contained.

Devastating flooding in Louisiana is responsible for the deaths of 11 people. But in some areas the water is slowly starting to recede. That means some of the tens of thousands of people who were forced to evacuate are coming home to check out the damage.

It's been a calm morning so far in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There was a small gathering at a park last night, but there are only rumors right now that police arrested a man there. More than 100 National Guard troops are on standby if needed.

Donald Trump is shaking up his campaign. He hired Stephen Bannon, who is a top executive from a conservative news site, to be his CEO. Some political analysts say these changes are a way to right Trump's faltering campaign.

Russia's 100 meter women's relay team who won gold in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing must return their medals today. This after the International Olympic Committee said one of the members tested positive for two steroids.

Men's basketball, women's gold, equestrian, and track and field are just some of the events going on in Rio today. The United States will try to add to their already impressive medal count of 84 overall.
