Day care where boy in van for 9 hours has license revoked
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -
A Lexington day care where a 3-year-old boy was left in a van for more than nine hours has had its license revoked.
Cabinet for Health and Family Services spokeswoman Beth Crace Fisher told the Lexington Herald-Leader that the owner of the day care appealed an emergency suspension issued earlier this month but withdrew the appeal. After the owner withdrew the appeal, the license was revoked.
Police said the boy was left in a van belonging to Precious Jewels School of Excellence day care until he was found at 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 4. He showed signs of dehydration when taken to a doctor the next day but was otherwise unhurt.
The driver accused of leaving the boy in the van was charged Thursday with wanton endangerment.
