Here are six things to know for today.

Firefighters in California are still battling several wildfires this morning. Over the weekend, the Blue Cut fire reached 85% contained and evacuation orders have been lifted.

Strong winds from a typhoon have forced air traffic controllers to evacuate the control tower at Tokyo's Narita International Airport and hundreds of domestic flights have been canceled at the city's other major airport. The typhoon made landfall Monday afternoon, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to Tokyo and the surrounding areas.

U.S. swimmer Ryan Lochte is apologizing for trying to cover up vandalism at a Rio de Janeiro gas station. Lochte and four other members of the Olympic swim team originally said they were robbed at gunpoint.

Police in Ohio are considering bringing charges against a 74-year-old woman who hit the gas instead of her brakes and crashed into a crowd at an outdoor community concert. She and eight other people were injured.

William Crumbaugh appears for his pretrial conference today. Crumbaugh is accused of killing 95-year-old Helen Adams after rear-ending the lawnmower she was driving at the time.

It has been a fun two weeks, but the Olympics are officially over. The U.S. lead the medal count with 121 medals.
