Two arrested on drug charges during traffic stop

Two people were arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says around 1:23 a.m. on Wednesday a deputy pulled over a car driving without headlights on Lone Oak Road.

The driver, 31-year-old Deantonio McGee of Paducah, and his passenger, 23-year-old Sara Johnson of Calvert City, said they had borrowed the car.

The Paducah Police Department K9 unit was called out, and inside the car deputies found suspected methamphetamine, digital scales, hydrocodone, and other items associated with drug paraphernalia.

Deputies say Johnson also tried to hide three individually wrapped bags of suspected marijuana on her person.

McGee was charged with trafficking in controlled substance 1st degree ( > or = 2 grams of Methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia buy/possess, trafficking in controlled substance (<10 D.U. drug unspecified Sch 1 & 2), no registration plates, and improper equipment.

Johnson was charged with trafficking in controlled substance 1st degree ( > or = 2 grams of Methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia buy/possess, tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana, and trafficking in controlled substance (<10 D.U. drug unspecified Sch 1 & 2).
