Paducah police officers recognized for completing first Cultural Leadership Academy

PADUCAH, KY -
The Paducah Police Department recently recognized seven officers who completed its new Cultural Leadership Academy, a program that began in the spring of this year.
The program aims to improve participants' "ability to analyze social issues, understand ethical and moral implications of working with diverse populations and implement effective community-based leadership," according to the police department.
The program was developed through a partnership between the police department and Murray State University.
Assistant Chief Brian Krueger, Capt. Anthony Copeland, Sgt. Chris Baxter, officer Shawn Craven, officer Austin Guill, officer Steve Thompson and detective Travis Watson received certificates of completion at a ceremony at the Murray State University Paducah campus.
