MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY -

Four people were arrested and one was cited in connection with prostitution in McCracken County.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says during the first week of September they received complaints about possible prostitution and drug activity taking place in the Paducah, McCracken County area.

Detectives found ads posted on a website under the "escort" section that were believed to be affiliated with the reported activity.

The detectives, acting undercover, responded to several of the ads of women who were allegedly in McCracken County. Several of the women agreed to meet in the Paducah, McCracken County area and provide various sexual acts in exchange for money.

The first arrest happened on September 8. An undercover detective met with 35-year-old Danette Watson and 35-year-old Jermine Sydnor both of Hopkinsville. Watson admitted to posting the ad and was involved in prostitution adding that Sydnor was also involved and benefiting from prostitution. Watson was cited with prostitution. Sydnor was arrested and charged with promoting prostitution and possession of marijuana.

Another arrest was made September 19. Detectives say 23-year-old Sarah Taber of Paducah agreed to provide various sexual acts in exchange for money with an undercover detective. She was arrested and charged with prostitution.

The final two arrests were made on September 20. Detectives say 38-year-old Jamie Pritchard of Old Hickory, Tennessee was driven to a predetermined location in Paducah by 41-year-old Edward Godsey of Ashland City, Tennessee. During the investigation, detectives found heroin in Godsey's car. Pritchard was arrested and charged with prostitution. Godsey was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Detectives say several other people were contacted but they were unable to legally obtain commitments that would allow probable cause to charge them. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges or arrests are likely.
