Baptist Health Home Care halting some personal care services

PADUCAH, KY -

Baptist Health says it will stop offering some personal care services, such as light housework and helping with baths, for home care patients in Paducah, Murray and Madisonville, starting Nov. 13.

Baptist will also stop providing help with case management, homemaking and respite care. It says in a news release Monday that the discontinuation of services has to do with changes to the waiver program for those services.

It says it will remain focused on providing nursing care in people's homes.

Baptist Health says staff members are working with around 120 people in Paducah, Madisonville and Murray to find providers for those discontinued services.

Executive Director Rebecca Cartright says the cuts are necessary to continue providing medical attention to the sick.

“Baptist Health Home Care is committed to providing quality nursing services for people with cancer, diabetes, heart and other serious medical conditions requiring our skilled care, so they can stay in their homes,” she said in Monday's announcement.
