PADUCAH, KY -

Two people from East Tennessee were arrested in Paducah recently on forgery charges, according to police.

Paducah police say 49-year-old Jacqueline Rice and 50-year-old John Dickerson, both of Knoxville, Tennessee, were arrested Saturday at Community Financial Services Bank on Park Avenue. They were called to the back at 11:24 a.m. when employees reported seeing a man and woman trying to cash checks for $1,985.43.

Bank officials contacted the account holder and found out the checks were forgeries, according to police.

Rice and Dickerson were arrested on charges of first degree forgery and first degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. They were jailed in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
