The National Federation of Croatian Americans Cultural Foundation has named Local 6 meteorologist Jennifer Rukavina among its first 40 under 40 list, celebrating successful Croatian Americans.
The NFCACF is a nonprofit organization that works to promote "the interest of the Croatian people and to enhance the relations between the United States and Croatia through educational advocacy, public policy and political projects and overall media relations," according to its website.
The winners are not ranked, and in a news release sent Tuesday the NFCACF says the list celebrates the success, talent, commitment and potential of the Croatian Americans on it.
"We have had so much fun finding and hearing about so many younger Croatians all over this country making their mark in so many uniquely distinct professional ways and within our community," NFCACF officer and 40 under 40 committee member Andrea Novak-Neumann said in the news release. “We looked nationwide for forty Croatian Americans who have demonstrated leadership, career success and dedication to Croatian causes."
In Tuesday's announcement, the organization called Rukavina a "star in the broadcasting world," and noted that she has earned three Emmy nominations and is a three-time Best Weather Award recipient from the Kentucky Associated Press.
