PADUCAH, KY -
City leaders got an update Tuesday night on progress made in efforts to nominate Paducah City Hall for the National Park Service's National Register of Historic Places.
Paducah Main Street Director Melinda Winchester is preparing an application to nominate the facility. She told city commissioners she will be ready to make a presentation to the Kentucky Heritage Council on Dec. 12.
The city hall will be nominated under a criterion designation that focuses on a building's design, architecture and construction.
If the nomination is successful, the city could apply for tax credits to help pay for the building's renovation.
