Here are six things to know for today.

A small earthquake hit southeast Missouri Thursday night. The U.S. Geological Survey says the 2.1 magnitude quake hit just before 9:30 p.m. The earthquake was about five miles southwest of Caruthersville.

There was also an earthquake in the Philippines while you were sleeping. Right now there are no reports of any damage. The United States Geological Survey says the quake was a 6.2 magnitude.

One of your favorite restaurants could close. The parent company of Applebee's and IHOP announced plans today to close 160 restaurants. That includes some 105 to 135 Applebee's restaurants and about 25 IHOPs. We don't know the specific locations yet.

 EU officials say 15 countries including Hong Kong have reported receiving contaminated eggs or egg products in a growing food scandal. Several producers in the Netherlands and Belgium are under investigation after eggs were found to have been treated with a product containing pesticide Fipronil.

Murray police want you to be on the lookout for counterfeit bills. It looks like a $100 bill, but has writing that appears to be in Chinese to the left of Ben Franklin's image. If you see any of the bills, call police.

The Illinois State Fair runs now through August 20. Governor Bruce Rauner kicked off the fair with a ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday. Some of your favorite artists like Brad Paisley, Alabama, and Five Finger Death Punch will be performing on the grandstand this year.
