PADUCAH, Ky. - The Paducah Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) hosted the Third Annual Walk for Mental Illness at Noble Park in Paducah on Saturday morning.

The NAMI Walk helps bring awareness and raise funds for mental illness in the community. Members came out to show their support and help advocate the need for funding for the treatment of mental disabilities.

NAMI Paducah Chapter President Barney McNeill says current funding is weak and it is encouraging to see so many people come together to support this cause.

"Oh it feels great," McNeill said. "You know a lot of agencies have trouble getting people to come out. We're very pleased with out NAMI Walks. We do get a good community support for people and that's great. The more that come out get to know us and get to spread the word to to other people about mental illness in our region."
