A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect overnight and into Sunday for Western KY, NW TN, and the MO Bootheel. Light freezing rain and sleet may cause some slippery travel, especially in the morning.
SATURDAY NIGHT: Increasing clouds, with a chance of light freezing rain, sleet, and snow by daybreak across parts of NW TN & W KY. Lows from near 10 north, to the lower 20's south. NE wind 5-10 mph.
SUNDAY: Cloudy, with a chance of light freezing rain and sleet, primarily in the morning. Minor ice accumulation of around a tenth of an inch possible...and sleet accumulation up to 0.5" possible. Highs in the mid 20's north, to the lower 30's south. ENE wind 5-10 mph.
SUNDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy and still cold. Lows from the teens north, to the mid 20's south. West wind 5-10 mph.
LOOKING AHEAD: With this next possible round of wintry weather tomorrow morning, most forecast models are still keeping the more significant precipitation to the east and southeast of our area. However, keep in mind that even a small amount of frozen precipitation can lead to dangerous driving conditions.
Clouds will linger into Monday, then the rest of the week should bring a nice stretch of sunny days. However, temperatures will remain well-below average, with a reinforcing shot of cold air ahead for the middle of the week. Finally, by Friday and next weekend, a more substantial warmup appears to be in the works...taking us back to the 40's.
