Severe Weather Threat Continues Overnight
Tornado Watch covers much of the region through 3AM. While the primary threat will be wind gusts near 60 mph, an isolated tornado is possible. As you get ready for bed, make sure you have the weather radio set to alert you of overnight severe weather.
Tornado Watch has been expanded to cover a bit more of S IL. (Story map has been updated). Isolated storms will continue a tornado threat through this evening.
I have added a slideshow of our hour by hour forecast graphics. Just click on the images in the "gallery" section above. This will give you an idea of when to expect the storms at your house. Notice, the line should really lose intensity as it progresses across W KY & NW TN.
Tornado Watch in place for much of SEMO & SW IL until 9PM.
A few afternoon storms have developed and may turn strong to severe. Any of these could produce damaging winds and an isolated tornado.
The main event/line will arrive across SEMO & SW IL between 8 and 10PM. It may not be until after midnight that we see the line of storms cross into W KY & NW TN...keeping in mind isolated storms are possible before then.
The primary threat tonight will be damaging winds, but a few tornadoes and some large hail also remain possible.
