A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 8PM for much of SEMO & S IL, and until 11PM for W KY & SE IL. 

Scattered storms are quickly developing across SEMO and northern Arkansas this afternoon.  As the activity pushes east, it will encounter plenty of unstable air across the Local 6 area.  The result will be scattered storms sweeping NW to SE through about mid evening.  The primary threats will be wind gusts near 60 mph and large hail.  Very heavy rainfall can also be expected.
