I watched my only child leave November 10th 2009, for Great Lakes Illinois for Navy Bootcamp. It was the proudest yet saddest day of my life. I wrote to him constantly, and prayed for him by the minute. In A school he met Maria. They were both stationed in Norfolk Va. He did come home for two weeks then left for Va. After about a month of being in Va, he called home to tell me I was going to be a grandmother! Wow, my baby having a baby! My grandson is due in December, and on November 7th 2010 he got deployed overseas. He will only see video and pictures of his newborn baby boy. He will not get to hold him or even meet him until Noah(thats his name) is 6 months old. He writes me and Maria to tell us that he loves Noah and wants to be there to get that bond established. I feel like all of our military needs to come home and be with loved ones on a special holiday like this. It would mean the world to me if my son could meet his son for the first time without watching him grow in pictures. God bless the military and their families. Thanks to all for their services!
