The day he came home from Iraq and met our baby girl

My Hero

Two years ago I married my best friend. He is my hero. He is in the United States Marine Corps. Shortly after we got married we found out we were expecting our first child. My husband, Jeffrey Jett, was called to duty shortly after in the summer of 2009. I was 34 weeks pregnant when he left for his first tour in Iraq. I delivered a baby girl 5 weeks after he left, and he missed her birth. He got to come home shortly after, when she was about two months old. We were together until the beginning of 2010, when he started training for his next tour in Afghanistan. He left in the fall of 2010 for a 7 month tour in Afghanistan. He missed her first Easter, he missed this Thanksgiving, and he will also miss this Christmas. He is due to come back next summer. We miss him and wish he was here for this Christmas more than anything. He is our hero.
