My Valentine's name is Glenn Brown, one of the local FedEx guys. We were sweethearts when we were teenagers. I lived in Marion,Ky. He lived in Burna, so we didn't go to school together, but as soon as we could we would meet each other in town after school and spend as much time as we could together. We spent our days hanging out with our friends in the local Pizza Hut,listening to the jukebox and talking about our day. Sometimes we'd all be in one of the many parking lots in Marion, sitting on tailgates, laughing until we'd cry. (Those were the days all the kids in the county and a lot of kids from other counties would gather to socialize, the days before we all had facebook and you had to get out of the house to have a social life). Glenn and I were always together, attending Church, and unfortunatly, funerals. Our friends always thought we'd stay together, but sometimes life gets in the way, and for sixteen years we didn't see each other. We each wound up getting married to other people and raising our families. Glenn adopted two boys and then had a girl of his own. I raised a stepdaughter and had another daughter of my own. Little did we know until now that our lives were intertwined all along. The same doctor delivered our children. We named our pets the same name. We decorated our homes the same way. The list of irony goes on and on. Finally, late last summer, our paths crossed again. I was so excited to find a long lost friend, he told me it took his breath away when he realized who i was. We talked for hours and hours just trying to catch up, and now, we are in love again. More then ever. I had a stepdaughter who needed a mother and he had two adopted boys who needed a dad. Maybe fate had planned for us to accomplish these things before we got together to stay. Maybe God knew we'd need each other the most right now. Whatever God's plan is, we know that we will go through life together now, strong enough to face anything. I'm bragging about my valentine because he is worth bragging about. He's a single Father raising three kids. He's a hard worker and loyal to his friends. And he's the love of my life and my best friend for years now. I thank God for the life that He has given me, and the time that He has given back to me with Glenn.
