Our wedding in Montego Bay, Jamaica

Love in the Most Unexpected Place

My husband and I were married December 11, 2010. This will be our first Valentine's Day celebrated as husband and wife. After the sadness and heartache of the last 2 years, I never imagined how happy I could be. My husband, Adam, has changed my life. At 30 years old and never before married, I felt like I was never going to be successful finding true love. I had found disappointment, heart-ache and low self-esteem, but never a partner who loved me completely and was perfect for me. I had known Adam for 4 years, but we never had a relationship of any sort. After yet another devastating break-up, I was jaded and alone. I withdrew from my life, and had resigned myself to the idea that I was going to live alone. Adam pulled me from my shell, and convinced me that a friend can be the love of your life. I have never before experienced such love and understanding. He truly accepts me for my flaws, and loves me in spite of them. After years of struggle with love, I feel at home with him, and full of the joy of life. He is the most wonderful Valentine I could ever ask for. We had the most beautiful wedding I could have ever dreamed in Montego Bay, Jamaica. After denying the existence of fairy tales for many years, I realized that I had indeed found my storybook hero. Happy Valentine’s Day, Adam.
