Voice among Ky. Association of School Administrators

Graves' Crouch reps W Ky administrators

Graves County Schools administrator Donna Crouch, who serves as principal of Gateway Academy High School in Mayfield, was elected to serve on the board of directors of the Kentucky Association of School Administrators representing the Western Lakes region. She has been a member of the KASA since 2007 when she began her career in administration. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and sociology from Western Kentucky University; a Bachelor of Science degree in special education from Murray State University, a Master of Arts degree in educational administration, and Rank 1 certification in educational administration. She currently is pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership P-12 at Western Kentucky University. Prior to accepting her leadership position at Gateway Academy, Crouch was a special education teacher for three years at Graves County High School.
She said in her petition for the seat on the board of directors that she would represent not only traditional schools, but also all types of alternative schools. She believes that her experience with alternative education will be a valuable asset to the KASA Board of Directors. In addition to her experience in alternative education, Crouch has been studying the dropout epidemic in the state as a doctoral student at WKU.
“I believe that my interests, research, and experience in alternative education and the state dropout problem will be valuable to KASA, as I serve on the board of directors,” Crouch said. “This opportunity will give me a chance to serve at the state level to help promote our state’s goal to get every student graduated so they can compete successfully in this competitive world.”
Dr. Rachel Yarbrough, superintendent of Crittenden County Schools, previously held the KASA position.
